"A feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of women and men.”
I am proud to say that I am a feminist.
Slowly, throughout time, society has convinced us that feminism fights for women's superiority over men. Though that feminism does exist, and it is a functioning philosophical movement, it is not the feminism that I, and most feminists, know.
Feminism is simply the belief in equality.
It is the belief that both men and women should stand side by side, without one taking precedence over the other. It is the recognition of humanity in both sexes, weaknesses and strengths, rejecting the false stereotypes that society projects upon us.
Feminism isn't prescriptive, telling women or men what role is best for them. Instead it encourages decisions based on the knowledge that your sex doesn't designate your role in society.
I am a feminist, I love my husband, and I love being a wife.
The one does not negate the others.
